Update | 6/13/2022

Greetings, all!

Quick post and note about current goings on. I slowed down for a bit to rest the muse lately, but I’m picking the pace up again. If you haven’t noticed, the 16th book in the Vampire Innocent series is out as well as the 7th Evergreen novel.

Not too long ago, I received an email from a reader asking if I planned to write more books in the Tales of Widowswood series. I hadn’t intended the series to be over at five books. Alas, as writers tend to do, I focused my energies more toward the series generating more interest from readers. The Emma series, while I quite enjoyed writing it, has unfortunately not generated quite as much of a following as some of my other books.

However, with someone taking time out of their day to specifically ask me about it, I decided to bump another Emma book up on my shortlist of things to do. Lo and behold, the muse had been waiting to wallop me over the head. It took me a little thinking to get a plot seed, but once I struck on the initial idea/concept for the story, the rest of it exploded into being.

Emma and the Box of Wonder, the 6th book in the Tales of Widowswood series is in progress. I’ve only started writing it yesterday and I’m up to chapter eleven. The whole document is presently 41,000 words – but some of that is outline, maybe half. Like I said, the muse rampaged. I’ve got 45 chapters outlined. This one might be a tad long for middle grade, but convention is made to be disregarded. A story demands its time.

And the muse demands mine.

The amazing Ricky Gunawan is going to be painting the cover. He expects to work it into his schedule around the end of June. If I keep this pace with the manuscript, it will be done before the cover.

If you haven’t yet checked out this series, consider giving it a whirl.

Happy reading!
